The Great Lion and the Sun of Gold
The meaning of the engraved metallic art on your bar of gold:
The Three Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Constellation of Leo, the alignment with the three stars of Orion’s Belt and the orientation with the sunrise, tales of buried gold, and the amazing mathematical calculation simply boggle one’s mind.
Even today, as the Mars Rover explores the red planet and the Hubble telescope explores deep space, we still don’t have a crane capable of lifting those huge pyramid stones. Without mortar, with seams so tight that you couldn’t insert the edge of your credit card in between, is it any wonder we stand in awe?
What does it all mean? Why do our eyes and hearts search the heavens? Why did the ancients have such a compelling fascination with the solar orb we call the Sun – the symbol of gold? The astrological symbol is a circle with a dot in its center – it’s the same symbol for not only the sun, but for Leo the Lion, the sun sign, as well as for gold. Gold was believed to be materialized solar rays, the force of life.
Why have people sought and fought over this precious substance? Was it just for wealth and power, or something far grander? The alchemical symbol for gold is also the symbol of the living cell. There you find a nucleus center and a peripheral membrane with an animating vitality in the form of photons – the smallest atomic measure of light – golden sunlight.
This is much akin to looking down upon a mountain peak from space. A circle with a dot, a golden treasure. The pyramid is much the same with its four lines ascending as they rise toward the peak or point of convergence. This symbol teaches us we also should seek convergence at the highestpoint of life – light, our golden apex.
When, as legend has it, after the golden city of Atlantis, with its streets paved with gold, met disaster, the surviving Atlanteans sought refuge in Egypt and built their ancient observatories to search the skies. But for what did they wait, and why? The secret lies buried within the great c
hambers and in the memory of golden apex reflecting the blinding light of the sun as the golden lion looks on, protecting its silent, golden treasure.
Your ten-ounce bar of gold is much more that a mineral mined from deep within the earth. Much more is revealed and released than the incredible pressure of rock and gravity compressing sunlight. It is much more than a passkey to wealth and well-being. It is your ticket to the stars, with a new understanding of life. The ancient symbolism is richer than gold, for you will behold a golden future beyond anything you can imagine.
And the Golden Lion, watchful in his vigil, will protect you in your flight to safety!

Engraved on the back of your Golden Lion 10 oz bar:
I Am Gold
I am more enduring than mountains, more liquid than the seas. I am solidified sunlight. I am from before time to everlasting. I have been the wealth of nations. When I am abandoned, they crumble. Love me and you prosper. Hold me and I’ll protect you.
I am gold.

How Does the Lion Relate to Gold?
I’ve been asked to explain why we’ve chosen to use the engraved lion on our bars. You’re probably aware of the fact that there’s no lion in front of the Giza Pyramids of Egypt. Or is there? What sits there is a massive statue – the Sphinx. Tireless excavations have revealed its colossal size: 240 feet long and 65 feet wide, a single piece of sculpture unexplainably carved out of natural rock.
This giant lion gazes eastward toward the sunrise, as if waiting for the golden light of a new dawn. It is positioned in perfect planetary alignment that has puzzled researchers for decades. The Sphinx has long been associated with the constellation of Leo. Leo is the sun sign ---- , which is also the alchemical symbol for gold. Gold is chemical element 79. If you like to play with numbers, consider that 7+9 = 16. Now add 1+6 and you get 7. The 7th day of the week is Sun-day, or the Golden Day. While none of this might mean much to you, you’ll have to be awed by the fact that the lion was very important to its creators – a creation that experts assert is more than 10,000 years old.
We at Golden Lion Mint are so well aware of the enduring value of gold, its value untarnished by thousands of years of honest commerce. We have felt the awesome lion an appropriate symbol to use.
“But isn’t the Sphinx carved with the body of a lion and the face of a man?” When Napoleon first saw the Sphinx, all that was above the sand was what was believed to be the face of Pharaoh Khephren. However, archeologists date the Sphinx far before even the Pyramids. The mystery prevails and the debate continues. Perhaps once modern-day humans finally peer into the hidden chamber, the great lion will reveal its secrets.
Back in 1965 in New York, Westinghouse buried two time capsules that could withstand the onslaughts of our species for at least 5000 years. What message do we have for future generations? What might an ancient people want to tell us about, from 10,000 plus years ago? Will we find the face on Mars to be a twin image of the Sphinx? And are those pyramids or only eroded mountains on the deserted Martian landscape? Mysteries only time will reveal.
Some time ago, I read of an archeological discovery in Delhi, India. In a courtyard of a temple was found a column of welded iron that had been exposed to the elements for more than 4000 years without a trace of rust! It is even unaffected by the destructive effects of sulfur or phosphorus. Compare that to our modern interstate bridges. It’s really pretty much like comparing paper to gold or silver.
Oh, that reminds me, in the country of Zimbabwe, the central bank last December started printing $250,000 dollar bills. But since their inflation rate rose to around 2,200,000% (that’s not a misprint) they created a 12-figure note – that’s a billion-dollar bill – worth about a U.S. peachback dollar. Wow! Talk about enduring values.
Yes, enduring values is exactly why we chose the Golden Lion resting in front of the timeless Pyramids of Giza, and an even more enduring Sphinx. I hope you decide to build your financial pyramid on a golden foundation, which will exist long after paper erodes.
